Commissioner Cautions Constituents on Social Media Misdirection

Margate City Commissioner, Anthony Caggiano, reached out to MargateNews.net to share a message that the City of Margate is on top of keeping people safe amid Covid-19. Similar to the advice of bona fide health officials, he advises residents to consider sources of information regarding the virus.

"This situation is too dire to pay any attention to the lies and innuendos by the bomb throwers on Facebook,” he told MargateNews.net.

MargateNews.net has confirmed that information conveyed by the Commissioner is in line with CDC (Centers for Disease Control) and Florida Department of Health (FDOH) recommendations on avoiding the sickness, along with symptoms that Margate residents need to acknowledge.

From Caggiano:

Folks,

We are facing a pandemic the magnitude of which this country hasn’t seen in over a hundred years.

Dr. Anthony Fauci, who we see on TV, has shared that things will get worse before they get better.

The question is: How much worse?

"Will we accept short term inconvenience to save hundreds, possibly thousands of lives?” queries Caggiano.

That answer is up to each one of us.

On behalf of the City, Margate staff and elected officials are doing everything in their power to continue delivering services to residents.

Will there be a hiccup or two along the way? Of course, but our residents are our priority, to paraphrase the Commissioner.

And remember, "Idle hands are the devil’s workshop,” Caggiano writes.

I am not saying that this period won’t have stressful moments, but we have to make lemonade out of these lemons. We have no choice.

Paint the house, read that book you’ve always wanted to read, binge your streaming service, play Uno with the kids, or just put your feet up and relax. This is your unexpected opportunity.

Think good thoughts and do good deeds. In the present situation, doing good deeds is as simple as washing your hands and following social distancing guidelines.

Again, how quickly we can bend this curve; work through this scourge, and come out on top is up to each one of us.

I know that the vast majority of you will act as human beings; show kindness, be courteous, and understand that your fellow women and men are all going through the same thing. Some worse than others.

You all are in my thoughts,

- Commissioner, Anthony Caggiano.
